It’s the perfect setting to enjoy a three-course wedding breakfast and raise a glass to new beginnings.

Continue the celebration downstairs in our characterful Cellar Bar, featuring bare brick walls and an exclusive atmosphere. Whether you prefer a DJ, live band, or your own personalised playlist, our space is equipped to handle it all. The Cellar Bar is entirely private, boasting a fully stocked bar, attentive and friendly staff, delicious party platters, and a dedicated dance floor.

With our 20 boutique rooms, you’ll have the perfect space to spend the day getting ready with your bridal party. After dancing the night away, simply head upstairs to rest and enjoy a beautiful breakfast in bed the following morning.

The Gallery is our light, spacious dining room with the access to our secret garden and private patio area. This stylishly decorated room is available for various events, from formal dining to weddings and private events.

Meet Our Events Manager

Every wedding at City Gate comes with the expert support and guidance of our dedicated Events Manager, Jon. With a wealth of experience in hosting weddings and events, Jon will help you design your perfect day and ensure you have everything you need for a memorable celebration. On the big day, he will be there to make sure everything runs smoothly and according to plan, all at no additional cost.

Wedding Day Feasts

Our wedding menus showcase the finest British seasonal ingredients, thoughtfully curated by our Head Chef Al Morgan to create an unforgettable dining experience for you and your guests.

Begin by welcoming your guests with a selection of delicious canapés and tipples in our garden, followed by the main event: a sumptuous three-course wedding breakfast, ensuring a memorable feast for all.

Not forgetting our show-stopping party boards and late night bites, we’ve got something for everyone to enjoy.

Raise a Toast

Our curated wine selection features both classic and contemporary choices, ensuring the perfect accompaniment to any meal. From crisp whites and full-bodied reds to elegant rosés and sparkling wines, we offer a variety of options from renowned vineyards.

For the evening party, our fully stocked Cellar Bar will be available throughout the night to keep the drinks flowing! Whether you’re in the mood for a signature cocktail, a refreshing spritz, or a pint of local ale, we’ll have it covered.

Wedding Stays

Guests having to travel can book one of our 20 beautiful boutique bedrooms, each featuring the comfiest of beds, in room drinks and nibbles, bathroom goodies, fluffy white towels, flat screen TVs and full WiFi access.

They’ll wake up feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy one of our hearty breakfasts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we have our ceremony at City Gate?

Not yet – but watch this space. You can have a fantastic after-party though.

Can we decorate the pub?

Absolutely – We allow table decorations (these look fab) flowers – naturally – and helium balloons. Let us know if you would like recommendations.

Can we have an external caterer?

No, however our Head Chef Al would love to work with you to create the ideal food for your wedding.

Full menu choices, plus special dietary requirements are agreed 14 days in advance, so you’ve plenty of time.

Who do we liaise with?

Our Events Managers Jon will be your first point of contact. He will be on hand every step of the way.

Do you offer tastings?

Yes, we can arrange a time at your convenience to pop in, meet the team and taste test which dishes you’d love to share with your guests. During this meeting, you are also welcome to try our wines.

Do you have any parking?

We don’t have our own spaces (we’re just too central for that).

But there are some good-as-gold public car parks nearby.  The closest is Harlequins Car Park, just across the road, it will set you back £13 for the day.
